Steps to create new user in Broadcom CA APM Instroscope

 

Follow these steps in order to create new user in CA APM Instroscope -

1. Go to APM Intrascope installation directory “C:\Program Files\CA APM\Introscope10.7.0.45\config” and take backup of take a backup of your users.xml and domains.xml file.

2. open the users.xml in any editor – notepad++

 

3.  Change plaintextPasswords="true"

4. Add user as per below example. save and close.

<user password="test" name="test"/>

5. Now you need to define user permission accessing the domain in domains.xml file. Open Domains.xml file and define user permission as below.

 

6. Recycling of MoM / Webview not necessary. If you wait few minutes, the MoM picks it up and next time you open the file, you should see the password is encrypted already.  It will change the plaintextPasswords="false" automatically.

7. Now try to logon and validate with new user.
