From my perspective, it appears that the filmmakers missed the
opportunity to delve deeper into the characters of Ram and Sita. Instead, the
focus seemed to be solely on the narrative of Ram rescuing Sita. The Ramayana
is a vast epic that cannot be fully encapsulated in a single movie, and it
seems that the writers simply surrounded the film with what they found most
"interesting," overlooking the broader aspects of the story. |

The film was supposed to portray the epic story of Ramayana. However, the creators chose to prioritize incorporating imaginative creativity alongside subpar VFX implementation. This decision has ultimately resulted in a disappointing and messy viewing experience that is likely to leave viewers dissatisfied. Adipurush seems to be an endeavor to capitalize on emotions, but unfortunately, it falls short in evoking any genuine emotional response. .SEE ALSO: Gadar-2, Most awaiting Movie Review | Sunny Deol, Ameesha Patel Starrer Movie |
Prabhas is undeniably a talented actor, but unfortunately, his recent performance does not quite match his inherent potential. It appears that the filmmakers have attempted to capitalize on his immense popularity, yet Prabhas seems to be lacking his usual spark. Throughout the film, his body language appears somewhat listless, giving the impression of someone who is lost or disengaged. While he may be striving to portray a sense of tranquility in line with his character, there seems to be a noticeable distinction between calmness and a lack of energy. Furthermore, the portrayal of Prabhas in Adipurush appears heavily manipulated and digitized. His physique seems incredibly artificial, possibly a result of excessive VFX usage. While it's possible that his physique is genuine, the overreliance on visual effects makes it appear more artificial than authentic. In
my perspective, Prabhas appears to be stuck in his Bahubali persona, lacking
the necessary serenity required to portray Lord Ram. He seems more focused on
his combat skills rather than embodying the essence of the character.

In my opinion, Kriti Sanon's portrayal of Sita was not bad; rather, it was quite decent. Despite the limited role she had as the damsel in distress, I believe she delivered a commendable performance in the film. Ramayan is believed to have originated between 400 BCE to 300 BCE. However, it is important to note that the color choices in the costumes of Adipurush, such as the inclusion of purple, violet, or lavender in Sita's saree, do not align with the color palette that would have existed during the era of the Ramayan. |
Lakshman's role in this rendition of the Ramayana seems quite limited.
He appears to be relegated to a mere formality, standing by Rama's side
without much significant contribution.

Since the Ramayana is set in the Indian subcontinent, it is reasonable
to assume that the Vanar sena would primarily consist of monkeys native to
India, rather than including large apes like Gorillas from Africa. |
The Lanka Dahan scene could have been the highlight but the
dark tone ruined everything. Indrajeet lights up Hanuman's Tail: Jali na.. Jiski jalti hai..wahi janta hai Hanuman ji: Kapda tere baap ka. Tel tere baap ka. Aag bhi tere baap ki. Toh jalegi bhi tere baap ki. In each cinema hall, a seat was designated for Lord Hanuman, despite
the fact that he never speaks the dialogue being delivered. |
Valmiki ji vividly described Lanka as "sone ki Lanka," a city made of gold. However, in Om Raut's adaptation, Lanka seems to have taken on a completely different portrayal, resembling a dark coal mine akin to those seen in KGF.

In this movie, Ravana is depicted riding on a dragon, which
bears a striking resemblance to an oversized and poorly designed bat. It's
worth mentioning that in traditional accounts, Ravana was known to possess
the magnificent Pushpaka Vimaan. However, this adaptation diverges by
showcasing him mounted on a dragon instead. Ravana was not only a formidable adversary but also a learned
sage, as evidenced by Rama's request to Lakshman to seek wisdom from Ravana
in his final moments. However, the portrayal of Ravana in Adipurush appears
to undermine his profound character, coming across as more of a comedic
depiction that lacks coherence and depth. |
If you are interested in watching the film, it ultimately
comes down to your personal choice. However, it would be unfair to compare it
with the iconic Ramanand Sagar's Ramayan. Such a comparison would disregard
the immense respect and admiration we hold for the masterpiece created by the
late Ramanand Sagar Sir. |
